COLD-WATER IMMERSION
Meet the cryo tub.
A short cold-water immersion can be a useful recovery option after intense exercise. Research suggests it may reduce post-exercise muscle soreness and improve how recovered some athletes feel.
Less post-workout soreness
Cold-water immersion may reduce delayed-onset muscle soreness after strenuous exercise.
Improved perceived recovery
Many athletes report feeling less fatigued and more refreshed after a cold session.
Rapid post-training cooling
A practical way to lower body heat after demanding indoor sessions or Houston outdoor training.
A focused mental reset
Controlled breathing and short cold exposure create a deliberate pause between effort and recovery.
Benefits vary by person and protocol. Cold-water immersion supports recovery; it is not a medical treatment.

Reset in the hot sauna.
A sauna session creates a warm, quiet environment for your body and mind to come down from training. It can be used as a standalone reset or as part of a broader recovery routine.
Muscle relaxation
Heat can help tight muscles feel more relaxed after demanding workouts or long periods of activity.
Post-training circulation
The body responds to sauna heat by increasing skin blood flow, supporting a warm recovery environment.
Heat-acclimation support
Consistent, appropriately programmed heat exposure can complement preparation for training in Houston conditions.
Mental decompression
A distraction-free session provides time to slow down, breathe, and transition out of performance mode.
Hydration and sensible exposure matter. Sauna supports wellness and recovery; it is not a medical treatment.

ELECTRICAL MUSCLE STIMULATION
Target the muscles that worked.
EMS uses controlled electrical impulses to create muscle contractions in selected areas. It can complement active recovery, movement preparation, and a personalized training plan.
Targeted muscle activation
Place stimulation where it is needed rather than treating the entire body the same way.
Adjustable intensity
Sessions can be scaled from gentle sensory stimulation to stronger contractions based on comfort and purpose.
Movement-preparation support
Controlled contractions can help bring awareness to specific muscle groups before mobility or training work.
Active-recovery complement
EMS adds a targeted option alongside light movement, hydration, sleep, and other recovery fundamentals.
EMS is an adjunct—not a substitute for medical rehabilitation, diagnosis, or progressive exercise.

Release tension. Restore movement.
Massage therapy provides hands-on attention to areas that feel tight, overworked, or restricted after training. Pressure and focus can be adjusted around your comfort and recovery goals.
Reduced muscular tension
Hands-on pressure can help overworked areas feel looser and more comfortable after activity.
Short-term mobility support
Massage may temporarily improve range of motion and make comfortable movement feel easier.
Post-workout relaxation
A dedicated session helps shift from training intensity toward a calmer recovery state.
Personalized pressure and focus
Target the specific muscle groups and level of pressure that fit your needs that day.
Massage can support comfort and recovery but does not replace evaluation or treatment of an injury.

WHAT TO EXPECT
A recovery session built around the day.
The right recovery choice depends on your training, how your body feels, and what you need next. Start with a simple conversation rather than a one-size-fits-all routine.
- 1
Choose your focus
Share what you trained, where you feel tight or sore, and what is coming next.
- 2
Select the service
Choose heat, cold, stimulation, massage, or an appropriate combination.
- 3
Recover consistently
Use recovery intentionally within your wider training schedule.
RECOVER RESPONSIBLY
Cold is powerful. Screening matters.
Cold-water immersion is not appropriate for everyone. Speak with a healthcare professional before use if you are pregnant or have cardiovascular, blood-pressure, circulation, nerve-sensation, or cold-sensitivity concerns.
For strength and muscle-growth goals, frequent cold immersion immediately after every resistance-training session may not be ideal. Timing should match the purpose of your program.
CRYO TUB FAQ
Before you get in.
Is a cryo tub the same as a cold plunge?
Yes. On this page, “cryo tub” means cold-water immersion in a purpose-built plunge tub—not whole-body cryotherapy in a gas-cooled chamber.
How long is a session?
Temperature and duration should be matched to experience, comfort, and health considerations. MAG Fitness should confirm its operating protocol before this page is published.
When should I use cold-water immersion?
It is commonly used after hard conditioning, competition, or training in heat. The best timing depends on whether your priority is short-term recovery, strength adaptation, or muscle growth.
Can I combine recovery services?
Potentially. Your training load and goals should guide whether heat, cold, stimulation, or massage is the better choice that day.
